Contact usTotal turnaround of Total’s turnaround safety instruction
Client: Total
Like in many industrial factories, Total performs regular turnarounds: processes in which parts of the factory are shut down to enable the maintenance, updating and repairing of installations and machines. As this is a relatively exceptional situation posing employees for out-of-the-ordinary tasks, Total has devised a specific set of procedures, guidelines and instructions to warrant the safety of their staff. Total decided to make a turnaround themselves, by leaving the path of traditional group safety sessions, and benefiting from the headway made in the production of e-learning programs. Therefore, to guide their people in the different European plants through these special measures, they asked B·U·T to produce a safety instruction program, in seven languages. Guided by a voice-over, the program gives a clear, stepwise overview of the different stages of a turnaround, and the different measures that are to be taken in each of these. The animations are appealing but moderate and to the point, and serve only to support and stress the important safety message. From now on, each time a turnaround is at hand, Total can instruct its workforce in a standardized way, at a minimal cost, and with an absolute guarantee that all that needs to be said, will be said.
