Making forklift drivers safety aware

Forklift trucks are indispensable at ArcelorMittal, but constitute a significant safety risk when driven by insufficiently trained drivers. This interactive training package runs on the intranet and is the theoretical part of the forklift operator training. Only when the trainee passes the tests at the end of the course, will he/she be allowed to follow the practical training. The program explains the pre-start checks, the theory on forklift stability, the operation and the handling of loads under different circumstances. Video sequences are supplemented with 3D graphics, textual summaries and exam questions. The login rights to the training are linked to the information in the SAP staff database.
